Great food! A little pricy these days, but it's worth it. I recommend their fried chicken wings with pork fried rice. The cashier speaks both English and Spanish sufficiently, so there's no worry for language issues. Just don't go expecting small talk. It's not a very clean place. I wouldn't touch any of the chairs and tables there, personally.

The aroma outside this restaurant was so magnificent I truly needed to stop in and see what it was giving! I initially was just going to step in and check out the menu for the future but then I suddenly had the urge to try! I ordered an order of chicken wings only in result of that being what I smelt outside the restaurant! Chicken was delicious and will definitely come for a lunch combo and/ or dinner! Service was okay! Nothing to brag about but the restaurant was clean so that's a PLUS One last thing, establishment is CASH ONLY which I HATE! But the chicken makes up for it!

Have been coming here every once in a while for the last 14 years. I lived in Providence in 2003 for one year and this is the place that stuck with me forever! Now every time I am anywhere near Providence I HAVE to stop at Yang to get the absolute best fried chicken pieces ever! I am Dominican and let me tell you this is the best mix of Chinese and Dominican I've ever seen they even try to speak Spanish a bit! they have "chicharrón con tostones" which is the chicken with fried plantains and they have "chicharrón con pollo frito" which is the chicken with fried rice. The plantains here are sooooo good! Also, the amount of food is insane considering how cheap it is. Its like $6 per order of chick with plantains or chicken with rice. Since 2003 when I came for the first time, Ive seen the same exact people behind the counter each and every time. Now that's really something!! They are friendly and great at what they do. In all these years I've never even tried anything different. This chicken is literal crack and is addicting!

I'm a little shocked they're still open after the shooting a year or so back. Is it unfortunate the poor kid was terribly injured? Absolutely so. Will I stop eating here? Probably no. I definitely won't dine in or really even pick up but I will snag that phone and dial for 'livery when the need for the occasional, hardcore junk food strikes. Warning to the fair-stomached: this is the epitome of delectably greasy, stomach bulging Chinese takeout. They -are- the stereotype. If you're looking for relatively healthy eats or a large Vegetarian menu, it's a total dead end. Expect finger lickin' fried chicken, pork ribs and absolutely to die-for garlic broccoli. The food here is extremely cheap and devilishly indulgent: 1,000 calories for the low cost of four bucks. So freakin' satisfying after a night of booze and especially gratifying as tasty leftovers the next day. The unhealthier the Chinese, the better it tastes the mornin' after- no walk of shame to boot. Admittedly, I was a tad torn between 3 & 4 stars. The food is shamelessly unhealthy and the location is honestly nothing to jump for joy about. While I would recommend their food anytime for those seeking a little somethin' fabulous, I really do not recommend wandering over if you're not familiar with the neighborhood. In the past couple years it really has gotten worse & despite my living pretty much a couple blocks up & being a regular face in the community, even I err on the side of caution and call in my orders after the recent influx of gang related violence. Still, it's certainly not Yang's fault and he still makes a damn tasty garlic sauce.

Welcome to my latest review, where I introduce you to a hidden gem in Providence, Rhode Island: Yang Restaurant. This unclaimed Chinese eatery is nestled at 924 Broad St, and it has carved a niche for itself with its mouthwatering offerings and lively atmosphere.

Yang Restaurant stands out for several reasons. First and foremost, it provides a range of delectable dishes that capture the essence of authentic Chinese cuisine. Known for its fried chicken wings and pork fried rice, the restaurant has garnered a reputation among locals as a go-to destination for flavorful takeout.

  • Appetizers: From crispy egg rolls served with duck sauce to savory BBQ spare ribs, the appetizers set the tone for a delicious meal.
  • Soups: Offering comforting classics like wonton soup and hot and sour soup, each bowl is a warm embrace for the palate.
  • Vegetable Dishes: For the health-conscious, the stir-fried mixed vegetables and broccoli with garlic sauce provide a delightful balance.

One of the most appealing aspects of Yang Restaurant is the vibrant energy that fills the space. Despite the modest seating, the atmosphere is perfect for casual dining or cozy family gatherings. The restaurant strives to cater to diverse needs, offering takeout and catering options while ensuring that it's kid-friendly and accessible for group outings.

Customer reviews are mixed but consistently highlight the food's quality. One diner, ‘King M.’, noted that it's a bit pricier, but the culinary experience justifies the expense. Another, ‘jarrchell b.’, was irresistibly drawn in by the enticing aromas wafting from the kitchen. They described the chicken wings as "delicious," emphasizing the comfort that comes with a well-prepared meal.

While the establishment is characterized by its fast service and efficiency rather than fine dining, the modesty adds to its charm. Many customers appreciate the bilingual staff who ensure communication flows smoothly, making it welcoming for both English and Spanish speakers.

All things considered, if you’re seeking food that tantalizes your taste buds, Yang Restaurant is undeniably worth a visit. Just remember to bring cash, as they operate on a cash-only basis. Despite some cleanliness concerns, the remarkable flavor of their offerings seriously outweighs any negatives.

Next time you're in Providence, don’t miss out on the opportunity to indulge in the fantastic offerings at Yang Restaurant—a place where flavor meets casual dining bliss.
